Thankful Thanksgiving

We spent a perfect Thanksgiving Day out at the farm. The weather was amazing and the day was full of fun and laughter with family. How blessed are we, that we get to spend this day with both of our families, all in the same place?! I love that!!! I wish I would have taken pictures of everyone that was there.
It was this little man's 1st Thanksgiving!

Girls, girls, girls!!! And...they are all cousins! Never a dull (quiet) moment!

Such a beautiful day!

Turkey time!
Then, the kids headed outside, where Nanny had cupcakes waiting to be decorated!

Can you believe that he turns ONE on Tuesday?! This time last year, I was headed to the hospital, for trip number one. HA!!

Conn pulled us on a "hayless" hayride. :)

Cash and Max, 7 weeks a part, hung out inside. How cute are they, talking to their Nanny?!

Pappy's legs make the best horsey rides!

To end this post, I'd like to introduce you to our McWhorter Thanksgiving Mascot, Sally the Cheerleader! HA! This was Lily's school project!

Hope you all had a beautiful Thanksgiving Day!

Two Birthdays and a Wedding

Whew! Our weekend was fast and furious. Conn had two wedding rehearsals on Friday night and two weddings on Saturday. I attended one of them. One of the sweet couples, was Anna and Nathan. Anna grew up in Conn's student ministry. It was so great to be a part of her special day. She was one of the most beautiful brides I had ever seen. Congrats, Anna and Nathan!!

While we were at the wedding, the girls were at a party for my niece, Camille. It was her Big 5th b-day! Even though I wasn't able to be there, I heard that the decorations were oh-so cute. :) My sis-n-law, Wendy, always has such cute ideas. Check out those headbands! Happy Birthday, Camille! We hope you had a fantastic day! We love you!

Can you believe it? Hannah Montana showed up!! Look at Lily. She is complete shock! HA!
The birthday girl and Hannah Montana!
Today, we had another birthday party for another niece of ours, Carson. It was an ice skating party. How fun is that?! The girls had a blast. Happy 6th Birthday, Carson!! We had such a great time at your party!! We love you!!

Cash, my girlies, and the b-day girl!

Pappy and Cash showed up as twinkies.

Happy Birthday, Carson!!

Let the ice skating begin!
They had these "walkers" that the kids could use to help balance them. I so wish I would have had my video camera. It was hysterical watching the kids on the ice!!

Now, here it is Sunday night, and Conn and I are watching the AMA's. Ummmm...not too impressed right now. Conn just made the comment that we must be getting old. Weird, weird stuff out there, I tell ya!

On a totally different subject...my little man...is turning ONE...a week from this Tuesday!!! How is this even possible?! He has stolen my heart and so much more!!! I feel like that this picture was taken just last week!

38 weeks...3 Days before Cash was born!

Until then, I hope you all have a fantastic week and a blessed Thanksgiving! Goodnight! :)

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble

Both of the girls had their Thanksgiving feasts this week at each of their schools. Maggie's was on Wednesday and Lily's was on Friday. They are always so much fun to attend. We love that Conn is always able to sneak away from work (shhhh!!!) and come join in on the fun. It is so great that we are so close to his work and the he has a job where he is able to do these sorts of things. It means so much to the girls and they love having him there (and so do I) :) .

One little Indian, Maggie Mae!

Maggie's place mat said that she was thankful for mom, dad, blankie, and toy ponies. FYI...she has no toy ponies. HA!!

Our kindergarten GIRL pilgrim, Lily Belle! She made sure that we knew she was a GIRL pilgrim because GIRLS do not wear ties!! HA!
About 2 weeks ago, Lily, started writing the "y" in her name backwards. We asked her why she was doing this and she told us because she thinks it looks better that way. Oh, goodness!!!
Maggie was out of school, so she got to tag along. Lily LOVED her being there.
We are SO thankful for our wonderful teachers!
My loves! Thank you, Lord, for my precious family!!!

I Was Featured

A couple of months ago, I entered Cash's nursery on the Design Dazzle blog. Today, when I clicked on their site, I saw that it had been chosen to be featured. How fun is that!

Vintage/Music Theme Boys Baby Nursery

Oh my gosh. ...isn't this room the best! Ashley McWhorter designed this room for her son Cash.

1. What gave you the idea for the room? Anything special that inspired you?
Many have asked why we chose the "vintage music/guitar" theme, and it really all started when I saw my husbands guitars sitting in our office one day. It just sort of came to me. I kept telling my mom that I had it all figured out in my head, but it just needed to come to life. Well, it did, and it is everything I dreamed it would be. I love it! It was so fun to decorate for a boy after being engulfed by pink, from two daughters, for over 4 years!

I got this idea from a coffee shop in Tomball. We bought these albums at an Estate Sale for $1 a piece. Except for the Johnny Cash one...middle on the top. That was a very special gift from our sweet friend, Molly!

2. What are the paint colors? Any do-it-yourself projects?
Can't remember the exact names of the paint colors. All the projects you see were actually all do-it yourself. We bought the bumper from Pottery Barn and my mom made the bed skirt. I still want to add a big red tin star on the blank wall above the head of his bed.

We bought plain wooden letters and spray painted them red. My mom then came up with the cool idea to mount them on sheet music from a Johnny Cash song book. The pages were bright white, so we tea stained them literally in a bowl of tea. We stuck them in the microwave for a couple of seconds, and they dried right up.

The window valance was once again my mom's brilliant idea. We bought a shelf and broke the back off of it making what was supposed to be the top, the front. We spray painted it red (sensing a theme here?) and bought some old 45's at an antique store. The material has sheet music printed all over it. Once again, it was a bright white, so we tea stained it, as well. My mom just hot glued the fabric to the molding of the windows.

This was just a plain black lamp that we glued fringe on to. We painted the Ukulele, that was hot pink. We had bought it for the girls on one of our trips to Mexico.

Ashley, thank you for sharing you son's nursery with Design Dazzle. It's a unique and way-too-cute nursery!
