Road Trip Saturday

Last night, I was looking at the weather and noticed that it was going to be close to the 70's today. So, right before we were getting ready for bed, Conn and I decided to take the family on a little road trip, for a random Saturday adventure! We got in the car around 12:30 this afternoon, and drove to Galveston. Yes, I know the beach is not a place that people normally go to at the end of January, but...the kids thought that it was wonderful idea!! It was a little windy and a little cold, but it didn't stop them from "playing" in the sand, collecting sea shells, and trying everything in their power not to go head first in the water. They loved it!! It was actually nice not having to worry about sunscreen, bathing suits, and floaties. Ha!

Such a fun day!
No agenda, no schedules, no naps, no nothing!

What did you do today?

Donuts with Dad

Yesterday, Maggie and Cash, had Donuts with Dad at their preschool. Cash had no idea what was going on. He was just happy to be eating donuts! Ha! Maggie, on the other hand, has been talking about it for weeks! She was SO excited!

Conn took the camera and snagged some pictures for me. :)

They have Chapel every Wed. The dads were able to stay and attend with the kids. Once again, Maggie was thrilled!!! She got picked to go up on stage and help demonstrate the bible story that was being taught.

Oh, and Maggie was also asked questions about her Daddy...

My Dad is 30 years old and weighs 60 lbs.
My Dad has black hair, and he has blue eyes.
My Dad's favorite food is a hamburger.
My Dad's favorite color is orange.
My favorite thing to do with my Dad is play and wrestle.

I'll let you guess which ones were correct. Ha! Love it!

Catching Up

Thank you SO much for all the wonderful comments about this sweet little love that is on the way. We are very excited!! Some tiredness and sporadic nauseousness has slowly started to creep in, but other than that, I am feeling pretty good.
Some have asked me if this baby was planned. Well...a 4th was definitely in the picture, we just didn't expect it so soon. This past Tuesday, I was considered 6 weeks pregnant, so still very early. I know it may seem really early to be telling everyone, but for some reason we have always told people this early. Conn and I have always felt that the more who do know, the more people we have praying for this sweet baby. Also, neither of us could ever keep a surprise like this to ourselves. Ha! We go on Feb. 2nd for our first appointment. We are SO excited. I don't care how many times I have heard a heartbeat or see a baby on screen, it still blows me away every.single.time! Such a sweet miracle!

Okay...onto some other fun topics. :)

Lily, was chosen as her classes Star Student last week. She had to make a poster about herself and then present it to the class. This is totally one of her passions and she loved every minute of it. She even went as far as to tell me exactly what pictures she wanted printed for her poster. Love that girl!

Last weekend, I went to visit my dear friend Lindsay, along with my mom and Janet (Lindsay's mom). Lindsay accepted a teaching job and up and moved her adorable self to Austin back in August. I have been dying to go see her and stay in her precious apartment. I was also so excited for her to show me around this new town that she calls home. She did a fantastic job as our hostess and tour guide. Lindsay was so amazing with her directions and getting us all over that town. It was like she had been living there her whole life. Despite that the temps only reached a high of 43 degrees and it rained 24/7, we still managed to have an incredible time...eating, eating, and more eating, going to all the local trendy shops, watching the entire first season of Modern Family, staying up way too late, and visiting her church that she is very involved in. So fun! Love you, Lindsay Lou! Thanks for an incredible weekend! Can't wait for our next visit! Oh, and thanks to Janet for taking and sending me all of these pictures. I totally forgot my camera.

Yesterday, was my 32nd birthday. It was a wonderful birthday full of little celebrations! Tuesday night I went to dinner with some sweet friends, then woke up to my girls' and Conn singing happy birthday with a lit candle in a donut, had lunch with some more sweet friends and my momma, and finally ended the night with a perfect date night with my husband. I know I say this all the time, but I am truly so very blessed! Oh, and to top off my day, the weather in Houston was GORGEOUS! 32 is going to be great! :)

Hope you all have a great rest of the week. It is supposed to get gross here...again! Blah!! SO ready for Spring!

Birthday Surprise...

My birthday is on the 19th of this month. I will be 32. So, for 32 years, my birthday has always fallen a couple of weeks after Christmas. Therefore, the presents I don't get for Christmas, I usually just re-ask again for my birthday. Good plan, huh?! I have always thought so, and my plan usually works out great!

Here are a couple of items that were on my wish list for this year...

I love this necklace from Lisa Leonard. I designed it (in my head) to have 3 separate tags...one for each of the kids names. I am not much of a flashy, jewelry person, so I love how simple and delicate it is. I could wear it with almost everything.

Yes, I know this is a vacuum. But, I really, really need a new one. One that works on carpet and hardwoods. The kids are dirty, I tell ya!

Some fun rain boots! I see these on my friends, and I love them! So, so cute!!

and, sometimes...

I receive items that I haven't even thought of yet, and are a COMPLETE surprise!

So, no matter what I may get for my 32nd birthday, nothing will ever top this amazing gift!

Too bad I can't open it until September! :)

Family Time

Over Christmas break, my brother and his family, were able to come in town. They live in South Carolina. The kids haven't all been together since our family vacation this past summer. We were so happy that they were able to be here for almost 2 weeks. We were able to spend a lot of time with them and my nephews. Even with all the age differences, the cousins absolutely LOVE one another and it is so much fun to have all 8 of them together. They play, laugh, talk and run non-stop. So much fun!!!

We had sleepovers...

We watched T.V...
Yes, even 10 and 11 year old's will tolerate Sesame Street. :)

We played it old school and went roller skating...

We took family pics for my moms annual Christmas card...

We relaxed and just enjoyed being together...

We put all the littles to bed, and had an adults only game night (well, except for Cade and Cole) :)
