Communicate!!!

When Conn is at work during the day and on the weekends, we actually communicate with one another quite a lot. No, we aren't on the phone constantly, rather it be talking or texting. We, on the other hand, use our wonderful Macs ichat and ivideo chat. I leave my laptop open all day on the kitchen counter and he, of course, is on his all day at work. So, as I walk past it through out the day, I glance to see if there are messages or updates from him. If one of the girls needs to talk to him or they just want to see his smiling face, there he is! They love it!! Oh, and it works wonders when they will just not listen to momma during the day. It's amazing what a little "daddy time" will do! HA!!

If you are not familiar with a Mac, you can do all of these fun backgrounds when you are chatting. The girls love when he goes under the ocean!

And...there is the ever so popular special effects faces! HAHA!

Friday Favorites

I came across these a long time ago, but I still love them just as much as when I discovered them. Pre-sliced apples in a bag! Heaven on earth to this momma!! This glorious find, is perfect for last minute lunches that are made way too early in the morning and for our busy family that is always on the go!

Maybe it is a boy thing, I have no idea. I never dealt with leaky diapers with the girls. But, these night time diapers, have saved our lives with Cash during the night. So happy to not be doing crib sheet changes every single morning! Thank you, Pampers!!
Pampers Baby Dry Overnight Extra Protection Diapers, Size 5 (30-40 Lbs), Jumbo, 23-Count Packages (Case of 4)

I am not really a dress (as in wearing dresses) type girl. Give me a great pair of jeans, a t-shirt, a hoodie, and a pair of flip flops, and I am set!! Seriously, I'll wear it all year. Even in the Texas heat that we get in the summer time. If I must dress up, I will wear nice black pants and a cute top. BUT...one of my best and dearest friends, Lindsay, is totally into dresses and has really turned me on to them. So, I decided to branch out a little bit and buy some. Now, I am still very picky when it comes to buying a dress. These are a couple of places that I am loving right now. NO, I haven't bought from all of them. Just fun to look at! :)

Ann Taylor Loft . I have never shopped at this store, until just recently. They have some of the cutest things. It can be a little pricey, but they have amazing sales! Like, one day this week, all of their SALE items were 50% off!
Shimmer Dress with Petal Trim

Shabby Apple is an online store that I discovered from another blog. How cute is this dress?

Of course, Lindsay, the queen of all things cute, is dedicated to the one and only, Anthropologie. She worked there all through high school, college, and even now on the weekends and over the holidays when she isn't teaching those lovely 7th graders, English! HA! You should see her closet (and, her bedroom floor)! It is my go-to place when I am need of something oh-so adorable! Thanks, Linds! :)

She does not have a blog, so I am just going to post her precious self on here!! :)

I also love, Francesca's and of course Target!!!

My last Friday Favorite, is the new Yogurt Parfait from Chick-fil-a! Mmmmm...GOOD!!!! I am in love with all things yogurt, and it is a healthier option for me when I drive-thru with the kids. Of course, paired with a Diet Coke! :)

What are some of your Friday Favorites?

Hope you all have a great weekend! The C-O-L-D has returned here to Houston, and I am NOT liking it!!! Stay warm!! :)

Mama Said There'd Be Days Like This

This week has been hard. The days have been long.

On Monday, I listened to my husband as he performed a memorial service for a man in our church. As I sat there with tears streaming down my face, I quickly began to realize...my life may be hard and my days may be long, but...my God is so, so good!!!

As Conn walked through the door that night, and this little man went running down the hallway yelling daddy, I quickly began to realize...my life may be hard and my days may be long, but...my God is so, so good.

As I ate dinner with some of my dearest friends last night and laughed and talked for hours, while my husband was at home doing baths and bedtime for 3 very tired kids, I quickly realized...my life may be hard and the days may be long, but...my God is so, so good.

During the days that I discipline our children way too much and yell way too loud, but then I look over and see this, I quickly begin to realize...my life may be hard and the days may be long, but...my God is so, so good.

Thank you, Lord, for these long and hard days!
May I count each day I have as a blessing!

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Birthday and Bloggers

On Tuesday, I turned 31. Lily, woke me up with our traditional birthday donuts. The other two loves were still sleeping, and in the McWhorter home, we NEVER wake a sleeping baby/child. :)

That night, I had made plans to meet up with some other fellow bloggers for dinner. But, before I left, I made sure to open some great gifts from my girls.

Maggie had just woken up from her nap. Yes, at 5:30 p.m. I told you, we do not wake our amazing sleepers. HA!

I love these two!!

So, back to the dinner. A couple of months ago, I met my sweet friend, Missy, through the ever so crazy blogging world. We have only met up once for a play date, but I feel like we are life long friends. So, she had this brilliant idea to put together a dinner with other Houston bloggers. Who doesn't like a night out with girls, to meet people that you know, but that you really don't know?! Does that make sense? Anyway....it was SO much fun! We laughed until we cried and then we laughed some more!! I met some of the greatest and funniest girls. We had a fabulous time and I am pretty sure I made some life long friendships.

Before dinner, I met up with my real, life long friend, Callie. We have known each other since kindergarten. She has one precious little boy, Carson, and is pregnant with identical twin girls!!! Oh, my goodness! I am SO excited!

All the girls!

Sweet friends...

Debra (sweet, baby Jude), Heather, Lindsee

Girls, thank you so much for such a great night! Such a fun, fun way to spend my 31st b-day (even if I didn't tell any of you!) The laughter was exactly what I needed and the new friendships were even greater! I cannot wait until we do it again...very soon!!

Weekend in Pictures

Friday, Conn's parents came out for dinner, and brought me a super, yummy early birthday cake...

Saturday, after daddy spoke at a marriage workshop, Cash helped him do some work around the house...

played underneath the table...

and, decorated some cupcakes...in a bicycle helmet...of course!!! :)

We have also been up to our eyeballs in all of this stuff...

The winter funk has hit our house full force. There is snot slinging left and right and everyone (except, momma, of course) is coughing up a lung. SO ready for these winter months to be done with. But, Conn just reminded me that then Spring hits and allergy season begins. Oh, the joys of living in Houston!! HA!

Yes, breathing treatments work much better when done in a bathing suit! HA!!

and, a little dancing always takes away the gloomy days!

Today, these two boys, are celebrating their birthdays...

Happy 35th Birthday, to my oldest brother, Brandon!
and, Happy 1st Birthday, to our nephew/cousin, Max!

We love you both!!

I turn 31 on Tuesday!!! Here is to another blessed year!!!
