Celebrating Jamie

A young woman that we know, grew up in the student ministry while Conn was the high school pastor. Who would have thought that same young woman would have such an integral part in our lives as a family? Jamie has been a lifesaver for our marriage and family. She has come over in the early morning hours to watch our kids while we were delivering new babies, she has come over in a moment’s notice when a fun opportunity has come up, she has been there for us countless times to watch our kids while Conn and I go out on a date, and she has also done overnights for us so we could take some kidless vacations. Jamie is family and we couldn’t be more proud of her accomplishment in graduating from college. You have worked so hard Jamie and we love you so much. Also…Conn wants to know if we can still call you for babysitting now that you’re an adult and all? :)

Because we love her so much and we are so proud of her, we got together with some of the other families that Jamie sits for, and threw her a surprise graduation party. It was SO much fun! She thought she was coming to babysit, but instead she was coming to hang out with just the adults for the night.

The ladies of the night...
Lindsay, Shannon, Jamie, Me, Joy

Jamie's favorite food is Mexican. So, we had fajitas, chips w/ tons of dip, and jalapeno poppers. The party just happend to fall on Cinco de Mayo. How appropriate. :)

The guys and gals...

After dinner we relaxed and had Texas sheet cake for dessert. We talked and laughed, and laughed, and laughed. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!!

One of the gifts we gave Jamie, was a painted tree on a canvas with the fruits of the spirit written along the limbs. The leaves are finger prints from all of our children. Pretty sure she teared up over this one. ;)

We love you so much, Jamie, and we are so very proud of you!
