Last weekend, 13 of my girlfriends and I, gathered for the 2nd annual, Girls Only Galveston Weekend! You can read about our 1st annual getaway here.
Between the 14 of us, we have 39 kids!!! Give these moms 3 days away from those said 39 kids, and we tend to get a little crazy! Ha!
One of the girls that went with us, Lindsay, has connections through a family friend, and we were SO blessed to be able to stay at this absolutely incredible dream beach house! We could not have been more thankful! The owner, Charlie, met us at the house to show us around and explain to us how to use things like the elevator, storm shutters (to black out the morning sun), and the golf cart. He just handed over the keys and told us to have a great time! When he left, we were so giddy like a bunch of teenagers! I love that he trusted all of us, whom he had never met, to spend the weekend in his vacation home!
4 of us were the hostesses this year. We went up a night early to get everything set up and ready for all of the other girls' arrivals.
The house was perfect for our huge group! It was also perfectly decorated and everyone fell in love the second they arrived!
The others started to arrive and the house became full of excited friends ready to spend the weekend together!
Shannon tried to start a "no phone zone", but it didn't last very long. :)
Everyone brought drinks and snacks. For meals, we were paired up (before we arrived) and cooked our specific meal for all of the others. Each group was in charge of bringing everything required for that meal. It's a good system and has always worked out great for our getaways. We had PLENTY of food and snacks...to say the least! :)
During the day, we spent A LOT of time here...
At night, we played games like Pokeeno and Loaded Questions...
We also sat around, watched beautiful sunsets, talked, and laughed...and laughed...and laughed!
Some got a sudden burst of energy and decided to do some night swimming...
I love these girls and love doing life with them! Thank you, Lord, for these sweet, sweet friendships!
