Weekly Update

Thanksgiving was wonderful. We are so blessed to have two families that all love being with one another. Yes, my family and Conn's family, come together at the farm, to celebrate this day. We have done this every year for the past 10 years. This makes my heart happy. I have no pictures to show for our fun day. My camera was left at home on the kitchen counter. It made me sad. I was fully expecting my dad to have his camera that I could use, but he left his at home because he was counting on mine. Ha!

We decorated for Christmas the day before Thanksgiving. It was 80 degrees outside. Our A/C was set and running all day on 74. Tonight, it is in the 30's and we have the heater and fireplace roaring. I love Texas! :)

We are gearing up for little man's 2nd bday. I love that he kind of gets that it is about to be his big day. We have his birthday invitation hanging on our fridge and he points at it and says "Cash. Elmo. 2." Ha! When we sing "Happy Birthday", he points to himself and says, "to Cash". When you ask him how old he is, he holds up two fingers and shouts, "TWO!" So fun!

At our church service this weekend, our worship leaders, Greg and Janna, led us in the hymn, Great is Thy Faithfulness. This is one of my most favorite hymns. I cannot listen to this song without tears filling my eyes and a lump forming in my throat. I love that it is a constant reminder of God's never ending faithfulness. His faithfulness for saving me, loving me, providing for me, protecting me and blessing me. I love that His mercies are new every morning. Thank you, Jesus! I love that He gives strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow. I love that all I have needed He has provided. Thank you, Lord, for your never ending faithfulness!

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Loved your pictures and those babies! So excited for Cash to be so excited about his 2nd birthday!! (time for another one!!)
LOVED LOVED LOVED Janna's song and the Avalon video! Has ALWAYS been one of my most favorite hymns too. Always brings back fond memories of Larry Kuelcke singing this same song back in the 70's!
Love, Mammy

One of my very favorite hymns! The line "strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow," is one of my favorites and has been very special to me (even named my last blog that very line). Thanks for sharing it again. I'll probably be humming it for days now, so thank you for that...
