Journaling

Over the summer, Lily, was asked by the upcoming first grade teachers at her school, to keep a journal and then turn it in when school started. Lily, LOVES to write and draw, so this was very easy for her. Here are some of her entries. Nothing was edited. The spelling and topics are completely all her own. She makes me laugh with some of the stuff she writes and the little word bubbles on her drawings...click on the pictures and they will enlarge.

Love this girl! :)

Love that girl. We had a journal this summer too and G was so proud to come home with his summer journal and reading award. Lily's handwriting AMAZES me!! I think you could have an author or an illustrator in your future!!

I know you know this being a former teacher, but I'll say it anyways...I had many second graders that didn't write that well...and many, many that didn't have that nice of handwriting! :) I can tell she'd be one of my favorites as a teacher!!

My favorite part of student teaching was journaling time and then reading them. Hilarious at times!

This girl just blows me out of the water. This was the kind of work that I hoped to receive from my second graders later on in the school year (if I were lucky). She is one sharp cookie. The beauty of it all is that she LOVES learning. What a blessing!!! Love, Nanny
