Laborious

I found this on another blog, and thought it was fun. Play along if you want!

***It's generally pretty quiet around the blogosphere on holidays. Just for fun, I thought I'd pull out this meme (chain letter) I found. In honor of Labor Day, it's about...well, labor. And not the kind you get a day off for, either.

How long were your labors?

Lily: Not really sure. I got to the hospital about 6 hrs. before she came, but I labored at my brothers house (long story) and at the mall, for a long time and was too stubborn to go to the hospital right away. I tend to do that with my babies.
Maggie: 2 hrs.

***Read my mom's comment (Julie Marler). She explains my labors with a lot more detail!!!!

How did you know you were in labor?

Lily: STRONG contractions and I was over-due. When I got to the hospital, I was 6cm.

Maggie: Little contractions and a lot of pressure. When I finally decided it was time, we went to the hospital, and I was already 8cm.

Where did you deliver?

With both of them, at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands. Where the drugs are.

Drugs?

See above. Goodnight nurse, YES!!!

C-section?

Nope. They both came really quickly with only a couple of pushes.

Who delivered?

Well, my AMAZING nurse/ dear friend, Linda, was there with me through most of it. Then, my WONDERFUL doc, whom I love dearly, showed up just in time for the catch! He came even though he wasn't on call. I was so blessed to have them and my WHOLE family in the room with both deliveries. Need an OB, nurse, or an "adopted" family? :)

We'll see how Mr. Cash makes his appearance, come Dec.

***If you want to play along with this meme, just cut and paste the questions into your own blog and leave a comment so we can all read about your laborious day(s).

Your "labors" were fun!! Went walking with you around the fairly new "outside stores" at The Woodlands Mall with Lily! We were babysitting Carson so we all went to Brandon & Sharla's to keep from going all the way back to Tomball. We decided it was time to go to their house when you doubled over and sat down and said, "Okay people, this is it!!" Brandon walked in his bedroom where Conn was timing your contractions and said, "Don't you dare have that baby on my bed!!"
With Maggie we worked dang hard to get Lily's room finished the day before Maggie came. Then you hosted your Small Group at your house and never told any of them you were in labor!! When Conn called us to tell us, I didn't believe him!!
I hope Cash is so much fun too!

your moms comment is cute. Great memories.

Yes, I am feeling MUCH better than the time you saw me last...at that wedding. I now do have a tummy...and I am trying to get my picture up on my blog...but the dang batteries are dead in my camera. sheesh. I will look today for some, cause I really do want to "document" where I am at 21 weeks. I should have been better and taken more pictures earlier. But honestly...I think I just popped out in the past couple of weeks.

As of being induced with this one...I dont know. we were lucky last time. Caitlyn was due on a Wed and we induced on Thursday...cause our doctor was going out of town for a week or so on Friday. I told her that there was no way that I spent all that time with my doctor and she not be the one to deliver. so I think she pulled some strings and got me in to be induced. So we will see with this one. My feeling is that he will not be early. I worked in retail with Caitlyn and was told if I was not careful, I could deliver early...ummmm, not happened. So again, we will see. I do plan on sometime in the near future going up to FOTW and seeing Shanon and Terri and also say hey to Con, Pat and Ginger. But we will see when that happens as well.

WE had a great labor day...hope yours was fun too.

cute post! i think i missed labor day by a few hours, so i won't play along! though it was fun to remember my labors as well as your stories!

coleman has not stopped talking about the "big gierelle that went with the little one that had the black and white swim soup with the pink on it." he asks, "what was her name again?' "oh yeah, wiwwy bewel!" so he spent a lot of yesterday scrolling through your blog photos. i do believe he has his first crush. when chris asked him about her (because i prompted him to, telling him how much he had asked me about her all day ), he told chris, "she is a little bit awesome!"

This was such a fun post!! You could totally do the labor thing without meds if you make it to 6 and 8 cm without the drugs, seriously, you could!! I hope you and little Cash are doing well and that you're looking forward to a wonderful labor!

Thanks for posting this. This is my favorite meme of all time. I can't believe how quick your labors were. You must handle things really well and work with your body. That's awesome! With your track record, I hope you don't have Cash in the car! What an experience that would be!!! Oh, and I agree with Abby. You could totally do it without drugs...but that is only if you care to do it that way. I'm so excited for you. Your family is amazing and I am blessed to read your blog. Thanks!!
