Old School

It is 8:09pm, and we leave tomorrow morning for vacation. You probably think I am writing this post because I am so ahead of the game and got all of our packing done today while Conn was off of work. Ummmm....wrong! Ha! We ran errands all day, came home and took naps, and then went back out again to run some more errands. While we were out, we decided to stop and buy us a sprinkler. Why, you may ask? Well, remember that huge ice storm that hit back during the winter months? A good 7 months ago, I think. Well, we were one of the lucky ones that had the pipes burst on our sprinkler system. My dad was going to fix it for us a while back, but the piece that we needed was sold out in all of Houston. Isn't that crazy?! So, we sent off for the part. It came it in the mail last week, and it was the wrong part! Go figure! So, here we are almost to the end of July, and we have yet to water our yard one single time this summer. We cannot believe that it hasn't burnt to a crisp in this 100 degree heat! So, tonight, we finally went to get us an old school, $6.46 sprinkler because the grass was looking a little crispy.

Also, while we were out, we went to fill our Expedition up with gas so we wouldn't have to do it on our way out of town. While we were at the gas station, Conn took the girls in to get their first Icee's. Oh, how they LOVED them!

Oh, and as I sit here and type this, Conn is with Maggie, at our fabulous Urgent Care Clinic. She has been complaining today of her ear hurting. In this family, we don't play around with ear infections. Especially, if we are heading to the Hill Country where the local clinic is a good hour away. I think she is fine, but better safe than sorry! Never a dull moment in this family, I tell ya!

Peace out, y'all! Have a great week and we'll see ya when we get back! :)

I can't wait to see all of the pictures from your vacation. I love that both sides of your families take annual vacations. What a blessing!

I'm so glad to hear that we aren't the only ones that don't always have everything done ahead of time. I truly admire your great attitude. I need that in my life. It's so much better than beating myself up for not having things "perfect"!
