Well, it's summertime, and in our family, that means only one thing...Garner!We have been going to Garner State Park/the Frio River, with all of my family, since I was in 8th grade! Yes, that is a LONG time and that should tell you how much we love it! :) We have been known to go sometimes more than once during the year. It is a wonderful family tradition!
As great a tradition as it is, the original plan was for all of us to head to Disney World this summer. However, the economy tanked most of my family this year, and forced us to keep the Garner tradition alive and well. Do you know that I have NEVER been to Disney World? No one in my family has. Notta! Not a one of us! Oh, well. Maybe next year.
Okay, back to Garner. It is always so much fun! This year was really special because last year, my brother, Dustin, and his family moved to South Carolina. We haven't seen them since Christmas. It was great hanging out with them again and our kids love my two nephews. Like...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE...them! So do we! :)
We love Garner! We love that our days and nights are filled with nothing but family, the Frio, and the fun of the Garner State Park dance.

I would hate to have to pick my favorite picture out of that bunch!!!! I love getting to see the faces of people so dear to my heart. I know that y'all had a wonderful time and enjoyed being with Dustin, Kelly and the boys again! Thanks for sharing and by the by, WE have never been to Disney either!!! Rachel is the only exception but she went with some old boy a million years ago, so it doesn't count! love you bunches!

Looks like you had a great time! But girl we gotta get you to Disney! You know that is my job as a Disney Vacation Specialist. There are definitely ways to go to Disney on a budget--I do it all the time:) Enjoyed seeing your pictures!

We love the Frio! Some of our family friends have a house right on the river there so we get the benefits of using it year round. There's no place like it!
And I've only been to Disney once...when I was in 5th grade for my sisters' drill team competition. It rained the whole time so I don't really count that.

PLEASE adopt me!! :) Matt has never been to Disney either, we are going to try and make it next year, we were going to go this year, but didn't for the same reasons y'all didn't! Well, your's and Kelly's blogs have done such a great job of showing everyone our Garner Time .... not sure if I'll even do a Garner Post! Yes, we did have an amazing time. It's lots of hard work but the kids are at the age now where they REALLY LOVE IT! I love that we are passing down a memory that they will never forget!! We have so many dumb traditions that we all love!! From the T-Shirts when we get there....all the way to the stop at Billy Bob's on the way home! And we LOVE it all!
