More Than A Baby Blessing

One of the big things in our family's life is to be thankful for what we have. We try to thank God for every blessing that He has given us, at the very moment, that it may happen.
One of the biggest blessings we have in our lives is our small group from church. We have been so touched by each couple that has been a part of our group. In the last 8 years, we have gotten to know a lot of great couples. Some couples have been with us for 8 years and some have gone on to other things in their lives. We have grown as individuals and as a couple because of the interactions and life experiences with the couples/families that God has brought into our group over the last 8 years.
Tonight we had a baby blessing for 3 couples in our group and one of the members of the group prayed over the new boys to be (yes, we're having all boys) that will soon become part of our small group family. When the boys arrive, we will have 17 kiddos in our group! WOW! After the blessing, the group surprised Conn and I with some great words of support and encouragement for leading the group. Of course I cried. In appreciation, the guys in the group chipped in and bought Conn something that they said "every man needs." What was it you say? A new NIV Study Bible? Nope. They got him a Remington Pump-Action 12 gauge shot gun. You should have seen Conn's face. Being that he's a pastor and well...Conn, it takes a lot to make him speechless, but he was. He was so blown away by the gift, but he was moved by the words that were spoken to him from the group. The ladies chipped in and got me a pre-natal massage at a local spa here in The Woodlands. I can't wait!!
Thank you, small group for being such a blessing in our lives. We thank God for you and love going through life with you. We are also looking forward to the new couples that will be joining our group this fall.

Hi! I think I've commented before, but I'm not sure. I love your blog (I'm a frequent visitor:) and your girls are beautiful!

Anyways, I was wondering if you could help me out? I don't know what area you guys live in. I was thinking around Houston. Our best friends just moved to Kingwood and are looking for a church. They need one to plug into desperately. Is your church around there or do you know of one around there? I'm not familiar at all with the area.

You can e-mail me at kramerswife@hotmail.com if you don't want to disclose on here. Either is fine with me.

Thanks so much for your help. I saw you guys had small groups and they are coming from a church that had small groups and miss them terribly.

Thanks.
Lynsey

How neat! We love our small group too - although we are fairly new to it. We are a group full of parents too and this Saturday we all pitched in for a babysitter and are going to Incredible Pizza - without the kids! How fun will that be! Laser tag, go carts - I am so pumped - I can't wait!! I'll post pictures on my blog so you can see all our fun :)
