Laborious

I found this on another blog, and thought it was fun. Play along if you want!

***It's generally pretty quiet around the blogosphere on holidays. Just for fun, I thought I'd pull out this meme (chain letter) I found. In honor of Labor Day, it's about...well, labor. And not the kind you get a day off for, either.

How long were your labors?

Lily: Not really sure. I got to the hospital about 6 hrs. before she came, but I labored at my brothers house (long story) and at the mall, for a long time and was too stubborn to go to the hospital right away. I tend to do that with my babies.
Maggie: 2 hrs.

How did you know you were in labor?

Lily: STRONG contractions and I was over-due. When I got to the hospital, I was 6cm.

Maggie: Little contractions and a lot of pressure. When I finally decided it was time, we went to the hospital, and I was already 8cm.

Where did you deliver?

With both of them, at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands. Where the drugs are.

Drugs?

See above. Goodnight nurse, YES!!!

C-section?

Nope. They both came really quickly with only a couple of pushes.

Who delivered?

Well, my AMAZING nurse/ dear friend, Linda, was there with me through most of it. Then, my WONDERFUL doc, whom I love dearly, showed up just in time for the catch! He came even though he wasn't on call. I was so blessed to have them and my WHOLE family in the room with both deliveries. Need an OB, nurse, or an "adopted" family? :)

We'll see how Mr. Cash makes his appearance, come Dec.

24 Week Baby Bump

Well, I am almost 25 weeks (this Friday), but these updates and pics are from 24 weeks. Cash may still be little, BUT he is a big mover and kicker!

Week Twenty-Four

• Bring on the bulk! Baby gains about 6 ounces this week. The weight is in muscle, bone mass and organs.
• His body begins to fill out with his appearance increasingly becoming more like a newborn.
• Taste buds begin to form. If mom drinks something strange or bitter, baby may be observed showing his distaste.
• Little creases have appeared on his palms. The muscular coordination of his hands has improved as he sucks his thumb.
• Over the next seven days the sweat glands will be forming in the skin.
• His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" and cells that produce surfactant, a substance that helps the air sacs inflate easily.
• This week your baby is officially considered viable.
• Baby weighs 1.3 pound (600gm) and is 11.8 inches (30cm) long -- almost the length of a ruler!

Two Post's In One

One Man's Trash...Another Man's Treasure

My mom and I (along with the girls) scored these finds at some garage sales a couple of weeks ago. We have always loved garage sales and have gone to them for as long as I can remember. Some are good, some are great, and some...well, you do the quick drive by. We have it down to an art!

I bought 29 pieces of clothing for Cash for just $12.25! Yes, I said 29 things!!!!! These weren't just any clothes, these were from Janie and Jack, Baby Gap, Children's Place, and Gymboree.


We then went to an Estate Sale and found some old record albums. We are decorating Cash's room in a vintage guitar/music theme. We are going to have a wall with a group of album covers hanging on it.


Our last stop was at a storage building where a man was cleaning out his storage unit. Crazy, I know. He just had a sign put up in front of the storage buildings. We weren't expecting to find much, but all of the items were beautiful pieces of antique furniture. Conn and I have been looking for two bed side tables for probably the whole 8 years we have been married. We never wanted to spend much, so when I came across these, I couldn't resist. I bought BOTH pieces for $125!

No, we didn't purchase these two girls. :) I figured since they were such troopers, I had to add them in on this post as well!

Just Chillin'

I walked in the living room the other day, and this is seriously how I found my Lily Belle watching T.V. It made me laugh. Describes her personality perfectly!

Happy 9th Birthday, Cade Philip!

Our sweet nephew is 9 years old today! We love you, Cade! Thanks for loving your cousins like you do, and for making us laugh...HARD!!! Hope it is a great one!

Boys, Boys, Boys

Well, it is official! Toni, the final pregnant girl in our Small Group, found out today that she is having a boy. There are 3 of us that are pregnant and we are due in Oct, Dec, & Jan., with all boys! What is even more crazy, is that all of us ONLY have girls right now. So, these boys will be a first for us all! I can't wait until Cash, Weston, and Carter are all here together! Let the fun begin!

Home Again, Home Again...

We just returned from a 6 day trip to the beach with our friends and their sweet families, the Young's and the Jett's. The mommies went up with the kiddos last Monday, and then the daddies joined us Thursday night. We had a great, crazy, and LOUD, fun time!! The beach house was perfect, but a little tight for our forever growing families - maybe 900 sq. ft. It just brought us all so much closer. :) We played on the beach all day, chased around kids, raced golf carts, watched numerous dress-up and talent shows, and PRAYED for bed time to come soon. Then, when it was nice and quiet, the adults stayed up late watching the Olympics, rockin' it out on the Wii, telling funny stories, and just living life. Thanks Amy, for putting all of this together. It was perfect. Can't wait until next summer with one...maybe two...well, maybe three other little loves joining us on our trips?! HA! :)
